Weekly Update - 9/15/2019

Congrats to those who competed at the Bozeman Invite yesterday. The delay was both good and bad, but at least the temps dropped a little for our races. Both teams (boys and girls) placed first in the field of 12 teams. Great job! It was quite the sight to see such a big team of great kids at the start line. Each person on the team is important to the whole group and everyone runs better with more teammates around them.

Remember, when filling out the form you must finish checking out by clicking the shopping cart and completing the transaction. If you don’t have an email confirmation, your registration wasn’t finished and I won’t get it! If you have any issues, please contact me at chad@bozemantrackclub.org.

Mountain West Classic on 9/28/2019

The MW Classic is perhaps the largest meet we compete at. It draws teams from all over, therefore registration is due earlier than normal. Registration needs to be done by Tuesday, September 24th at 10:00 pm. Late registrations are not allowed.

Volunteer Signup

The Signup Genius for volunteering will be sent out each week. With parents willing to step in, the coaches can coach without logistics interruptions. There are still open spots to help at Dillon, so please take a moment to sign up!

Parent Page

Don’t forget to stop by the parent page. There is a lot of great info available there!

Bobcat Track & Field Association (BTFA) All-comers Meets

The BTFA holds informal track meets every summer. These are geared toward preschool through sixth grade and are a lot of fun. The meets are on Tuesday July 9th, 16th, and 23rd at 5:30 pm at the MSU track. No need to preregister, just show up and have fun!

Week 6 - Relay/Field Event Meet on Saturday!

It is hard to believe we are already entering our last week of the regular season. Congrats to all who participated over the three days of the USATF JO Region 11 Championships and a HUGE thank you to all that volunteered to make the meet a success. Also, there were several key volunteers that, without their above-and-beyond attitude, the meet would have been extremely rough. I can’t say thank you enough.

This week we have one last meet on Saturday in Helena. Registration is due by Thursday at 5 pm. This meet is different than the rest in that it is a Relay and Field event only meet. Relay teams can be pre-formed or can be created at the start line (meaning you don’t need a full team to register). If you have any questions, please get a hold of chad@bozemantrackclub.org.

Upcoming Schedule

  • Tue June 25 @ 6 pm - Practice at MSU

  • Thur June 27 @ 5 pm - REGISTRATION DEADLINE for Helena

  • Thur June 27 @ 6 pm - Practice at MSU

  • Sat June 29 - Relay and Field event meet in Helena

  • Sun July 7 - Uniforms due

If you plan to go to nationals (top 5 individual or top 2 multi’s), please let me know ASAP (chad@bozemantrackclub.org).

Uniforms are due no later than July 7th. They should be returned in a bag with the athlete’s name so that we know which check to shred. Uniforms can be dropped off at practice this week if the athlete is not competing in Helena on Saturday or can be given to Lucy Coley or Susan Atkinson at the end of the Helena meet.

Week 5 - Regionals!

Congrats to all who were able to compete last weekend in the USATF Montana Association JO Championships. Also, a huge thank you to all those who volunteered with the long jump and triple jump. The weather cooperated this year and the performances were great. It looks like we may get some rain this week during the Regional meet, so please plan accordingly for all weather conditions.

Regionals registrations are due by noon on Wednesday. If you know your athlete plans to compete, please register them sooner than later.

Volunteering at the Regional meet will be key for us to put on this event. If you are at all able to assist, please sign up for a shift. If you have any questions, contact me (chad@bozemantrackclub.org) and I’ll help you find an assignment. Anyone without USATF’s SafeSport Certification will have to sign a waiver. To expedite the process, feel free to download, print, and fill out the waiver prior to checking in at venue entrance.

Upcoming Schedule

  • Tue June 18 @ 6 pm - Practice at MSU

  • Wed June 19 @ noon - Registration Deadline for Regionals

  • Thur June 20 - NO PRACTICE - Regionals begins at 2 pm with the Multi-events

  • Thur June 27 @ 6 pm - Practice at MSU

Week 3 - Upcoming Schedule

Congrats to all who participated in the T. Downey Classic in Helena on Sunday. There were some great performances, a few Person Records (PRs), and I hope everyone avoided sunburns! This week will be a little less chaotic as we prepare for the USATF MT JO Championships on June 14th and 15th. Registration for that event is now open. In order to resolve any issues that may come up, we will close registration for the BTC on Tuesday, June 11th at 10 pm. The meet schedule can be found here.

  • Thursday 6 pm - Practice @ MSU

  • Tuesday June 11th 6 pm - Practice @ MSU
