Indoor High School Distance Running
What?
In past years the BTC Indoor T&F Program has not focused heavily on indoor distance running. While we have had runners racing 1500m - 3200m distances, we haven’t had the space or resources to support them as well as we would have liked. With our access to the new Kennedy-Stark Athletic Center, we have created a program specifically for high school athletes who want to focus on distance running races, from 800m to 3200m (or longer!). These athletes will compete with the other BTC Indoor T&F programs as one Bozeman Track Club team.
Who?
This program is for any high school distance runner, from any school in the area. Workouts will be tailored for experienced athletes who want to improve and compete, while enjoying a new and modern indoor facility! The program will be led by Casey Jermyn, our newest BTC coach, assisted by various other BTC coaches.
While we enjoy training younger athletes, it is our experience that their winter track development is best if focused on speed, in the 400m and 800m distance races. Therefore, this program is limited to 9-12th grade athletes.
Practice Schedule
The 2026 season starts January 6th, and runs through March 5th. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Tuesdays: 5:30-7:00
Thursdays: 5:30-7:00
Track workout sessions, such as intervals and repeats, will be indoors on Tuesdays. Longer workouts, such as tempos, will be run outdoors if the weather permits, or indoors if needed. Athletes should be prepared for both options! All practices will meet at the Kennedy-Stark Athletic Center.
Competition Schedule
Athletes will have the opportunity to compete as part of the BTC Indoor T&F team at meets throughout the season. The details for these meets is on our Competition Calendar Page.
